With summer just around the corner that means Eastmont football. Eastmont will be practicing all throughout summer preparing for a big season coming up. Trying to come out on top in the league and repeat a visit to state.

Coming into the season, Eastmont is losing 12 senior starters which is a big loss.

“The senior class was small but talented. You don’t replace seniors, you just want the young guys who played the year before to step up and be better than they were. Because of COVID and injuries we have 17 guys who started games last year for us. That kind of experience is invaluable,” said Eastmont’s Head Coach Micheal Don.

Eastmont is coming out of a 8-3 overall record and 5-1 league record, getting 2nd in league. Eastmont hopes to win the league and repeat a visit to state this year.

Captain and incoming Senior Austin Ruffins says, “I’m excited to see what our young team can do this year. I definitely think we will be good its just a matter of if we really want it or not.”

Everyone’s favorite match up every year Eastmont vs Wenatchee. The long awaited game will be held at Eastmont High School September 16th.

“They were fun a lot of people came out. The red zone came out and the school spirt was good. It was cold though, people had to bring blankets,” said Jose Rodriguez Senior.

Watch out for your Eastmont Wildcats this upcoming fall!
