Eastmont’s 2024 Hoco royalty has been revealed. Halftime of Eastmont’s homecoming game announced that Amiliah Duarte and Izek Perez are this year’s royalty.
Amiliah and Izek’s great performance at the homecoming assembly helped them solidify their campaign and win. They danced and dressed up in sumo costumes giving a funny and entertaining performance.
I asked some questions to Izek and Amiliah; these were their responses.
“When did you guys decide you wanted to run for hoco royalty?”.
“We decided super last minute because originally we were originally gonna run for prom king and queen”-Amiliah.
When asked what they thought when their names were called during halftime this was their response.
“I think it was unbelievable that we won and I was happy too”-Izek.
“I was surprised, I was so glad and started crying at the thought of our family being there to support us”-Amiliah.
Other nominees: Ryan Brown and Lily Vickery, Alexis Alcantar and Narelly Landin, Randy Binner and Tessa Schall, Jesus Villa and Camille Meneses.
The Stadium erupted in cheers for Amiliah and Izek.
Families of the Nominees were called onto the field.
The final question I asked was did they expect to win. “No, because I kept overthinking that others would win”-Izek.
“I didn’t expect for us to win, the other couples had AMAZING performances, but I’m so glad I got to share this special memory with all of them”-Amiliah.
