The end of the semester, or the semester change, brings many emotions to Eastmont High School. Students’ classes change, meaning they have to change their focus on their studies. These changes can cause feelings of tension, stress, or maybe even hope.
Christian Puente, a senior here at Eastmont High School, gave us his feedback on how the semester change affects him.
He said, “They’re taking me away from all of my friends and putting me somewhere I don’t belong, I would rather stay in the classes I have now.”
The semester change can cause people to become sad because they are put into new, different classes that do not include the friends they had made before starting classes. The new classes can cause them to feel awkward and have a lack of effort with the work given.
Additionally, we asked Jacobi Mercado, a junior attending Eastmont High School, about his views on the semester change and its new rules.
Mercado said, “It’s interesting and the new bathroom rule sounds stupid because I definitely don’t skip class”
Despite the stress of trying to get used to the new classes, other students are intrigued about what the new semester can bring for them and their education. They get a sense of hope that the new classes given to them will be better or more fun than their previous ones.
Take time to focus on how your classes affected your last semester, and look forward to the upcoming semester and what it will bring for you.
