Jay Foster, the head coach of Eastmont High School had a long career before becoming the head coach for Eastmont. It all starts with Slippery Rock University, Jay was the head defensive backs coach for 18 consecutive seasons. Jay Foster led his defense to the #1 defense in all of the D2 schools.
“I am truly honored and excited to announce that Jay Foster has accepted the position of head football coach at Clarion,” said Head Coach Katis.
Foster had coached at Clarion University for the years 2005-14. Foster was announced as Clarion’s 11th head coach on February 8th, 2006. His biggest achievement is that he was named the 2009 PSAC-West “Coach of the Year” by a vote of the Western Division coaches. He also led the Golden Eagles to an outstanding 8-3 record in 2009 and a 6-1 mark in the PSAC-Western Division.
“Becoming a head coach was a dream of mine and that dream came true at an outstanding university,” said Head Coach Jay Foster.
Foster was announced as the defensive backs coach for UAlbany for the 2015 football season. Foster was added as the Great Danes’ defensive backs coach by head coach Greg Gattuso. Gatusso said that Foster was added as another person to lean on and bounce things off of. Gatusso also thought Foster would bring great knowledge because he was a former head coach.
“ I miss being at the collegiate level for coaching, but I love coaching high schoolers because you can show the kids how to be a man before they leave you,” said Coach Jay Foster.
