Apple Blossom is a yearly event hosted by the Wenatchee Valley Chamber of Commerce. It lasts from the last weekend of April to the first weekend of May. The festival was created in 1920 after World War 2 to celebrate the importance of the apple industry to the region. It was originally named “Blossom Days,” although it was changed shortly after.
The festival includes a Classy Chassis car show, a kiddie parade, and a grand parade. Following these events, there is a food fair with stands from all over, as well as the Funstastic Shows Carnival.
During the festival, the kiddie parade is held first, allowing young children to have their own moment to shine. Following that, Stemilt organizes the grand parade, where larger companies in the valley are showcased. Additionally, the food fair features themed days dedicated to various causes. It also includes live music, shows, and a beer garden.
The Apple Blossom Festival is a great place to spend time with family and friends. So many people look forward to this time of year because the town is filled with so much joy and activity.
Ayla Soto, a Sophomore at EHS, says, “ I am excited for the parades, and the food fair, and to hang out with my friends.”
At the festival, there is something for everyone, no one is bored during the Apple Blossom.
Jose Nava, a sophomore at EHS, says, “I like to watch the Classy Chassis and hang out with my friends at the food fair.”
Overall, Apple Blossom is a great way to bring the community together. There is so much to do and see during this time, and many feel like it brings our valley to life. This time of year is the brink of spring moving onto summer, which makes it even more enjoyable. Apple Blossom is always a fun time for everyone.
