Eastmont is holding a spring dance hosted by QSA band and senate on Friday March 21st.This is a last minute dance set up by the school that will take place in the Aux gym.
Concerns are being raised because of the uncertainty of how many students will be attending this dance. Of the 30 students asked only 3 said they will be attending it.
However, there are still students who are planning and excited to attend the dance.
Addison Edwards, sophomore said, “I am looking forward to dancing and having fun with my friends”
Addison plans to thrift a dress for the dance because she doesn’t want to spend a lot of money.
Junior, Jazmin Cuevas says,“This is the first dance I have been to since middle school so I am just excited to see the scenery and have fun.”
Jazmin wants to wear a black dress but does not know from where.
Salvador Garcia-Zavala, Sophomore said, “ I am excited to go with my date and dance”
Finally Salvador doesn’t know for sure what he wants to wear but plans to wear something more formal.
But why aren’t most eastmont students going to this dance? Well for senior Austin Pedrone and most other students he says since this dance is so close to prom anyways he would rather just wait for that dance.
There are also concerns voiced of how last minute the dance was announced so no one was really prepared for it. A few days later the date of the dance was also changed to march 21st instead of the 22nd.
EHS has not held a Spring Dance for at least five years and QSA Advisor Mrs. Bendtsen is optimistic about bringing it back.
“We have had a lot of students express interest in a Spring Dance, especially Seniors, who have never had an opportunity to attend one. We hope it is a tradition that can be brought back to Eastmont. Not only does it give students a fun excuse to dress up, but it is also going to help raise funds for Eastmont clubs!”
