The school year is almost over, and summer is just around the corner. For many students, that means trading school stress for beach days, road trips, or some much-needed sleep. Some are traveling, getting summer jobs, or staying home with family. I’m heading to Mexico to spend time with my family and friends—but here’s how others are spending their summer 2025.
Alexis Eggers, a sophomore, said she will be spending her summer in Georgia with her boyfriend and his family and the rest of the summer she’s just going to stay up late playing video games.
A lot of people, like Alexis, will spend their summer nights staying up late on their phones—watching videos, texting friends, or playing video games.
Maggie Ezpinosa, also a sophomore said, “I’m going to lock in for next year, I’ll be working on myself mentally and physically”
Jackson Hunt will be looking for a summer job.
Ganelle Castaneda Martinez is going to summer school for two weeks and then she might work picking cherries.
Leslie Sanchez will be getting ready for her first job.
Since most sophomores are sixteen now or turning sixteen they’re able to drive and also get their first job.
Mr. Erdmann will be cleaning trees and digging a house foundation in the state of Idaho.
Jamie Shrewsbury said “Probably just sleeping and staying up late”
No matter how everyone chooses to spend their summer, whether it’s traveling, working, relaxing at home, or staying up late this is a much needed break after a long school year.
