Music is a way for listeners and artists to express themselves, but it’s also a way to relax, focus, and change moods.
Us Students always ask friends or family what genre they listen to, to connect with them more, or if they listened to the new album they dropped or the new single. But we never ask the question of what do Teachers listen to nowadays?
After talking to many teachers from different subjects they teach at Eastmont, asking them what type of genre the teachers listen to in school or outside of school and why do you listen to that. After asking this question I was very intrigued with the responses.
In this chart, you will see the genres that teachers listen to, and the type of genre that teachers listen to is rock/subgenre rock. When asked why, Mrs Zilinski said, “Usually 80s music, rock. Bon Jovi, Guns N’ Roses, Def Leppard. Sometimes 90s R&B. This is what I grew up with. It has a great beat, and I know most of the words!”
Most teachers when asked why, most said that it’s what they grew up with the most.
In 3rd place is Christian music when asked why? Ms. Romero said, “I listen to Christian/Gospel music. It allows me to feel calm, at peace and listen to good things, good messages and happy things all day long. It truly changes my mood for the better.“
From this Survey when asked what type of genre teachers listen to and why? One thing teachers said in common is that it’s the genre they grew up with the most.
