Day 1
Pick 18: Grey Zabel, NDSU, OL: Grade: A.
A somewhat boring pick, but exactly what we needed for the Seahawks’ below-average offensive line that was second in the NFL for sacks given up with 54. Grey only gave up 4 sacks in over 2,700 pass block snaps, he also ranked second among FCS tackles for run blocking snaps with a PFF grade of 90.4.
Day 2
Pick 35: Nick Emmanwori, South Carolina, Saf: Grade: A+.
I love this pick because he got a perfect score on the NFL Combine’s athletic score of 10/10, which ranked 1 out of 1,079 safeties tested all time. I saw Nick go as high as pick 16 in the draft, so for him to fall all the way to pick 35 is amazing for the Seahawks. He is an excellent safety who can cover exceptionally well and is an avid tackler.
Pick 50: Elijah Arroyo, Miami,TE: Grade: B.
It’s not necessarily a bad pick, just Mike Green, an excellent edge rusher who was mocked to go in the first round, was still available. At first, the pick was a little disappointing, but afterwards, I’m happy we got a replacement for Noah Fant when he leaves. He’s a great deep threat who can potentially be very good. He had 590 yards and 7 touchdowns on 35 receptions.
Pick 92: Jalen Milroe, Alabama, QB: Grade: B.
I like this pick because he has a very high ceiling but a very low floor. He needs to have a perfect situation to succeed, but sitting behind Sam Darnold for a year or a few years will benefit him and develop his throwing skills so he can be the future of the Seahawks franchise. His rushing upside is what makes him such a good prospect. he had 32 rushing touchdowns as a starter for the Alabama Crimson Tide. He also had 17 interceptions and 39 passing touchdowns with a total of 6,935 yards.
