On February 21st, Eastmont High School hosted a blood drive for the American Red Cross. This showed the community’s commitment to addressing the need for blood donations.
The blood drive is held annually at Eastmont high school. It is a vital event that serves an opportunity for students and staff to contribute to a worthy cause.
Lilly Vickery, a member of the blood drive stated, “I think that the blood drive is a great opportunity to help those in need without taking much.” Volunteers worked together to set up the event and spread awareness about the blood drive.
This is shown when another member of the blood drive, Makaia Quitoriano shared “I believe that me donating blood could save lives.”
Jackson Dodd, a Senate member who helped to set up the blood drive, says, “The blood drive is about collecting blood for people who need it, like those who are seriously hurt. It’s an annual event that helps ensure there’s enough blood available.
It happened all day on February 21st, and it was also open to the community, so everyone can donate.”
