Eastmont High School is getting ready to say goodbye to one of its most loved teachers, Mr. Thibault, who is retiring at the end of this school year after 33 years at Eastmont. Mr. T-bo, as he is affectionately known by his students, joined the Eastmont staff in 1992 and has been a staple in the science department ever since.
Mr. Thibault has inspired many students throughout his career with his passion for Chemistry and unique teaching style. His classroom is not just a place for learning about science, it’s an exciting classroom filled with many animals that he cares for. With two snakes, two lizards, and even a tarantula, Mr. T-bo has created a good environment that educates students about the wonders of the animal kingdom.
As the school community prepares to celebrate Mr. Thibault’s remarkable career, students and staff reflect on his impact over the years. His dedication to teaching and his love for animals will be cherished and remembered long after his retirement.
Charlie Rockney had some great things to say about Mr. Thibault’s class. “Zoology class is hands down the highlight of my week! Getting to dive into the animal kingdom and learn about all sorts of creatures, big and small, is so fascinating. Mr. Thibault makes it even better—he’s seriously an amazing teacher. He has a way of explaining everything so clearly, and his passion for zoology is contagious. I always look forward to his class and leave feeling like I’ve learned something new and exciting. Being Mr. T-bo’s TA has been such an incredible experience, and my favorite memory revolves around the sheer wonder of his animal collection. Every day was a new adventure, surrounded by creatures I’d only ever read about. From the vibrant colors of exotic birds to the intricate patterns on reptile scales, each animal had its own story to tell. But more than just seeing them, learning about their unique behaviors, habitats, and adaptations was captivating. Mr. Thlibit’s passion for zoology was infectious, and his willingness to share his knowledge made every moment a learning opportunity. I feel so lucky to have had this chance to deepen my understanding of the animal kingdom in such a hands-on way.”
Dalia Vega-Cebreros said, “Mr. Thibault was an amazing teacher, and he made his class so much fun in zoology, inspiring us to explore the fascinating world of animals and their habits beyond the classroom.”
