Mr. Garness is an English/Language Arts Instructor at Eastmont High School. He enjoys working with youth, the great outdoors, Track and Field- mostly high jump and javelin, and spending time with his family. "The world is full of people and people are full of stories, go out and write something," said Garness. He took over the Scratching Post club in 2011 and has been advising ever since. In 2015, Eastmont added Journalism as a class which has allowed the program to expand into its current form. This is a student-run publication and the students truly run it. Garness stated, "It is fun to see what the kids want to do. I am here to guide them, not do it for them."
