The Wildcats made their first appearance on the West-side, competing for the first time at the Bellevue XC Invite at Lake Sammamish State Park. This meet had 13 different race categories ranging from Men’s and Women’s number one and number twos to combined team scoring.

Senior Tobin Henson cruised to a fifth-place finish in the Junior/Senior race clocking in at 18:18.

The course traversed the woodlands of the park with a section of running on the beach next to the lake. “We had blue skies all day while the snow fell back at Eastmont,” explained Assistant XC coach Hannah Aumell.

Notable finishes from EHS’s distance crew include Sophomore Kevin Hernendez who ran hard for a thirty-eighth-place finish in the Freshman/Sophomore race with a time of twenty minutes flat. Freshman Dayna Dickson ran a 21:10 for a thirteenth place finish in the Varsity 5 and 6 race, and sophomore Olivia Leonhardt did an excellent job grabbing twenty-first in the Varsity 7 and 8 crossing the finish line at 22:19.
