Daxton Derby Dickson plans to either serve a mission for his church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, or complete the BYU Flex Program as a college alternative. He wants to pursue a career in chiropractic or dentistry and has been inspired by the chiropractic care he has received, his desire to help others, and his father’s career as a dentist. For the next year, Dax is most excited for freedom, moving out, and seeing different towns outside of Wenatchee. And though he is excited, what he believes will be the biggest challenge is living on his own, a learning curve compared to what he is used to. Dax stated that high school prepared him for his plans by teaching him how to build relationships, work with a team in sports and projects, work with different people towards the same goal, how to meet people, and much more than just basic math.

Another senior, Ryker James Hall, wants to choose a pathway in the Navy as an electrical technician or pursue a career as an electrical technician here instead of through the military. Ryker was inspired to choose this pathway because of the need for electrical technicians, the great education he would receive when preparing for this job, and his father’s helpful influence. In this upcoming year outside of high school, Ryker is most excited for the freedom that comes with graduation and adulthood, while the biggest challenge he believes he will face after graduation is purchasing a home. High school has prepared Ryker for his plans by giving him experience with working with a team during school sports and learning how to be a leader in leadership classes.

Ramona Bailey Webley will be attending college at BYU Provo, Utah University in the fall of 2026. Ramon wants to pursue a career as a pediatric nurse after she graduates from college and has taken the right steps towards this goal. She is currently taking a CNA class at the high school, which allows her to also perform as a nurse at two of the valley’s memory care facilities. Ramona was inspired to choose this pathway because of the interesting exposure she will receive and the help she can provide to patients. What she is most excited about in this upcoming year is the freedom that she will have after leaving home and high school. The biggest challenge Bailey believes she will face after graduation is not giving up while she works to get her career. Finally, high school has prepared Bailey by “giving me options”.

Kolton King Arnold has a plan to attend Wenatchee Valley College or Central after he graduates from Eastmont High School. Kolton wants to pursue a career as a paramedic, and was inspired to do so because: “They are the first line of defense when bad things happen.” Kolton the King is most excited about being free after high school ends, while the biggest challenge he thinks he’ll face after graduation is: “Actually committing to what I say I will do, having self-discipline.” And when asked the question of: “How has high school prepared you for plans?”, King answered, “It hasn’t.”
Kimberly Huerta is choosing a pathway at the University of Washington after high school graduation, to study finance or international business. What inspired Kimberly to pursue this education is her love for math and the desire to solve math problems after leaving high school. She is most excited about living the college life and living on campus for this upcoming school year, while the biggest challenge she believes she will face is living on her own and the time management she will be responsible for as an adult. Kimberly stated that high school prepared her for her future by helping her to be more social and provided her with the realization of her love for math.

Colt Daniel Moser plans to further his education at the Northwest Linemen College after he finishes high school here at Eastmont. Colt wants to pursue a career as an electrical lineman and was inspired to do so because of his dad’s influence and encouragement, and because of how fun he feels the job is. What Colt is most looking forward to in this upcoming year is finally earning enough money to purchase his own truck, which he has been saving for. When asked, “What do you think will be the biggest challenge after high school?” Colt answered that getting into the trade of linemen and finding good opportunities will be the most difficult challenge after graduation. Moser believes that high school has prepared him for future plans by teaching him how to learn, solve problems, and figure things out independently.

Jacobi Azael Mercado has a plan to join the Navy as an electrician’s mate after he finishes his senior year at Eastmont High School. Jacobi wants to ultimately pursue a career as an electrician or a police officer after his Navy experience is completed. Azael was inspired to explore these two pathways by the electrician’s yearly wage, Navy benefits, and his physical preparedness for the job as a police officer through years of school and club wrestling. What Jacobi is most excited about in the next year is being away from home and seeing new places, while what he believes will be the hardest challenge for him is learning how to live on his own. Lastly, high school has prepared Jacobi for his future plans by giving him the challenge of working every day and having a strong work ethic.

The last interviewed senior, Kaiser Sherman, wants to attend college after high school at WVC, Wenatchee Valley College. Kaiser wants to be educated further in cybersecurity, with the plan to have a career in that department. He was inspired to pursue this career and education by his dad, who introduced him to electronics and tech. What Kaiser is most excited about in this upcoming year is not being in high school any longer, while his biggest challenge after high school will be keeping up with the workload at college and finding the motivation to do so. Kaiser ultimately rates how the high school has prepared him with a 7/10 rating, and specifically, the preparation for future life skills.
